The Guest Book: It’s one of the those standard items on every brides “to-do” list. Seems pretty simple right?!
What if I told you that there are some super fun and pretty easy ways to revamp the traditional sign your name, line-by-line book.
Your guests are there for a reason! They are your family and biggest supporters of your marriage. They came to cheer you on at the beginning of your Happily Ever After.
Here are 6 unique guest book ideas that you will love ( and so will your guests!).
#1: Traditional with a Twist
This is a popular go-to guest book! You want to spice things up a little bit but keep things traditional at the same time. Create a book (typically the engagement photos are used here) and let your guests sign away! My own wedding included this option!
I can not stress this enough as a photographer… PRINTING COMPANIES MATTER! Steer clear from places like Walgreens, Walmart and Shutterfly. They might be great when it comes to cost BUT not the quality of your images and prints! Here are 4 companies that do a wonderful job in my opinion!
1. Nations Photo Lab
2. Mpix
3. Zno
4. Artifact
#2: Create a Family Portrait
Head over to Etsy or find someone in your town who specializes in creating a unique family drawing/portrait and even better…. include the fur babies!
#3: Fun + Interactive With Polaroids
This is one of my favorites and was THE choice in 2020. One way to use the polaroid is writing a message on the back of your photo and hanging them on this cool display with clips. Another option is taking your photo, sticking in a photo book and signing below your picture. Several polaroids offer adhesive backings, making it quick and simple to include in a book!
#4: Spiritual + Sentimental Keepsake
If you love Jesus then THIS WILL BE YOUR JAM.
I wish I saw this when planning my wedding! Purchase a family bible to keep out and use as a married couple. Put it in place of a guestbook and have your guests highlight their favorite verse and sign next to it!
How precious is that?!
#5: Wall art
I love this as a non-photo option. It’s beautiful, simple and goes with so much!
#6: SEW in Love
Last but certainly NOT least is the idea of taking a special quilt or blanket and having people sign an area. Another way to do this is to go pick out a few fabrics and patterns that coordinate with your wedding colors, cut them into squares then have your guests signs a square and leave in a box. Later you can have a quilt made with these squares from your wedding day!
Whatever you decide to use as a guestbook, you will not go wrong! Just make sure you have one!
Keep it traditional, or venture out and be creative. It is just so fun to have the memories and look/flip through and see who was there to celebrate with you!
